Tapas Gardens’ service is all inclusive. What we do:
Level the area where you want your garden bed in your yard.
Build and install the raised bed.
Line the bottom with landscaping material and steel mesh (to keep soil in and critters out)
Layer the wood compost, aged compost/manure mix, and special recipe of biochar, worm castings, micro-element mix, and mycorrhizal fungi for the top layer.
Build and install a copper and brass watering connection. We assemble the conduit and valves, a mazzei fertilizer injector and filter, and an automatic self-watering drip irrigation system.
Install the selection of young starter plants that you selected from our seasonal menu.
Connect your raised bed garden to your garden hose and setup the automatic watering system.
*Upon request, we can provide and install a hose splitter at your spigot and new garden hose dedicated to your raised bed.
Everything is included in the price. The price changes only according to the size of the bed. There are 4 bed sizes, and 4 corresponding prices.
We start you off with the most nutritious of soils, healthy starter plants, tough-built beds, and an automated irrigation system. Your vegetable plants will probably survive some periods even without your input, but the intention is for them to prosper and taste delicious with your regular attention, for example:
Turning auto irrigation off during rainy weeks.
Checking the plants leaves and stems for indications of nutrient deficiencies or disorders, and then treating the plants or soil accordingly (you don’t need to be plant biologist, google image searches and phone apps work pretty well).
Checking the insects and using google or apps to decide which are beneficial and which might need to be kicked out. There are plenty of organic and conventional solutions.
Harvesting regularly. Many vegetable plants flourish when they are regularly harvested.
Removing old or decaying leaves or plant matter to make room and airflow for the new.
*For 2026, we will offer to periodically come check on your garden at your request (free of charge). It’s important to us that your veggie garden thrive to be healthy, beautiful, and delicious.
A Tapas Garden bed is ideal for the person who:
wants to explore gardening, but needs a bit of help getting started.
loves gardening, but doesn’t have 20hrs a week to dedicate to it.
has more desire to learn about plants, biology, and cuisine than infrastructure.
wants their children to get their hands dirty and understand where real food comes from.
enjoys tending to the garden, but also…will probably neglect their garden for weeks at a time.
absolutely LOVES the idea of walking out to the garden to freshly harvest some prolific veggies and herbs before preparing a home-cooked meal on a Saturday evening.
